More information
The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) has set out a number of commitments towards the prevention of ill health, including the implementation of NHS-funded alcohol care teams (ACTs).
To deliver these commitments, NHS England has invested £24m by 2023/24 through the LTP, to optimise ACTs in hospitals with the highest rates of alcohol dependence related harm.
Patient level data provided through this collection will ensure that NHS England and NHS Improvement can not only demonstrate delivery of the alcohol LTP commitments but can influence service improvement.
In addition, patient level data is specifically required to enable the monitoring of:
- the impact and clinical outcomes of alcohol dependence treatment services
- the impact on reducing health inequalities.
